Emergence was put together in a similar fashion to A Song for a Rainy Day but over a longer period of time. The album was recorded roughly from March to July of 2021 and mixed and mastered by the end of August, all within the same home studio. Emergence is a sort of disconnected companion piece to A Song for a Rainy Day, featuring callbacks to the latter album's songs within the opener and acting as a follow-up to Rainy Day's storm motif. After a storm, the clouds part and the sun emerges. This is the album for the sunlight after a heavy rainfall in the evening.

This whole project is also being accompanied by a full album visual featuring videos from frequent collaborators Kaiden Jackman and Jack Parker, who also produced the project, as well as Jonathan Malloy, Mave Ky and Juan Pablo Cortés Dueñez.

"Emergence" is directly inspired by the end of "My Warm Blood" and the beginning of "I. The Sun" by the Microphones
"From Behind Shutters of Clouds" is inspired by "La Femme D'Argent" by Air and features samples of "Ka Di" by Hi Deodara
"Appalachia" was previously recorded in January 2021, then remixed in May for the album.
"Appalachia" and "Snowfall in May" are the only two songs recorded digitally, however "Appalachia" was exported to tape during the mixing process. "From Behind Shutters of Clouds" features MIDI drums performed in a DAW. Every other song and instrument was recorded in analog.
